UNIQLO x Baskin-Robbins

16 July 2013, Singapore – For the month of July, Japanese casual clothing chain UNIQLO introduces an interesting collaboration (food-fashion alliance, wow) with American ice cream company Baskin-Robbins.

Baskin-Robbins is a chain of ice cream parlors founded in 1945 by brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins in California. Since then, the company has been satisfying cravings worldwide with their signature premium ice cream and frozen desserts. The company is also known for its “31 flavours” slogan, with the idea that a customer could have a different flavor each day of the month.

For the collaboration, UNIQLO and Baskin-Robbins have created 31 pairs of ice cream flavor inspired shorts for both women and kids.

Some of the stand-out pieces include the Cherries Jubilee and Pineapple Sherbet flavors.

The UNIQLO x Baskin-Robbins line is also available in 5 fun matching patterns for girls who would want to play matchy-matchy with their stylish mothers.

These shorts retail in UNIQLO stores island-wide for $16.90 (knee length versions for adult women) and $9.90 (short pant versions for girls) respectively. The collection would be available on shelves for about 2 months.

This food-fashion collaboration isn’t the first for UNIQLO, who has collaborated with French luxury sweets maker Ladurée for a line of shirts inspired by their renowned macarons. Here at Metropolitant, we say keep them coming. (Yum!)
