American Express Brings Back the Iconic Green Card

The American Express® Personal Card

American Express is marking the end of its year-long 90th-anniversary celebration by bringing back the iconic Personal Card, also known as the Green Card, on 30th November 2015.

The American Express Personal Card was first launched in Singapore in 1977 – 52 years after the company opened its first office in Singapore providing travel services.

Cheng Heng Chew, Singapore Country Manager, American Express, said, “Many Card Members including myself have fond memories of the green card and for many this was their first American Express card. As this is a milestone year for American Express in Singapore, we wanted to bring back a piece of heritage – our iconic green card to mark our 90th year of operations in Singapore as well as the country’s jubilee year.”

The first 1,000 approved Principal Card Members will receive a Limited Edition Gold American Express Gift Cheque with a face value of US$25 – a nostalgic reminder of the days when Travelers Cheques were one of the most secure means of payment for travelers. In keeping with tradition, the American Express® Personal Card is a charge card requiring full settlement at the end of each billing period.

To find out more, visit their roadshow at Chevron House from 30 Nov to 4 Dec (10.30am to 7.30pm) and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee from 11.30am onwards (while stocks last.) Applicants at the roadshow will be given an American Express gift! (while stocks last)
