Watched & Liked – The Rise Of The Guardians

26 November 2012, Singapore – The Metropolitant Team caught Dreamworks’ – Rise Of The Guardians over the weekend and liked it. If you were at Plaza Singapura this evening and saw 3 stooges in Santa hat, that was us. The film — whose voice cast includes Chris Pine, Jude Law, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman and Isla Fisher — follows a team of holiday heroes who protects the children around the world from evil.

Though they’re all familiar characters, Baldwin’s Santa-like North has a thick Russian accent and heavily tattooed arms. Jackman’s Bunny is a swashbuckling hero, with an Australian accent and a boomerang. Pine’s Jack Frost is a Peter Pan-ish teenager with floppy hair, Fisher’s Tooth is a hummingbird with little fairies assisting her, Law’s Pitch is a dark lord kind of devil. The silent Sandman communicates via pictures which appear above his head in gold sand has got to be my favourite(he makes a cute stuff toy too).

Channeling some sort of Justice League or Avengers, the guardians stands up against the evil dark force, Pitch. This animation provided good laughs in many instances. In short, good entertainment value when you just want to feel like a 10 year old again. No, Legoland is not the only option you have.
