3 December 2012, Singapore – Ever since YSL has opened its freestanding store at Ion Orchard, I have been swatching different types of lipsticks from this brand and this glossy stain has definitely got to be a winner. This revolutionary product encompasses the 3 different makeup products which women normally use – lipstick, lip-gloss and lip stains. Generally, lip stains are harder to find in Singapore’s cosmetic market and an unpopular product to use, as it tends to be quite drying on the lips. YSL has successfully combined it into a lightweight lip product which has bold colour payoff and high shine.

With 19 gorgeous shades to choose from, there’s definitely a colour to suit every occasion, whether it’s a cosy weekend high-tea affair or an little black dress event. Furthermore, the lip-stain effect leaves a nice frost-bitten tinge on the lips even after long hours of wear. There are a few ways on how to use this product depending on the look you would like to achieve:

1. Apply a single coat on your lower lips and purse your lips together for a softer colour and natural shine.

2. Reapply another coat starting from the middle of the lower lip for more coverage and high shine.

I have actually found my favourite shade, No.7 Corail Aquatique No.7 is a warm light pink which would suit mostly fair Asian skin-tones and very work-wearable too. I could see myself wearing this every day, regardless of work or play.

Each of them retails at $43 for 6ml of product and it is made in France.
