23 January 2013, Singapore – For those who love tea inspired fragrances, I must recommend Jo Malone’s Earl Grey and Cucumber cologne. Jo Malone is known for pairing very unusual ingredients and unique fragrances as well as introducing the art of fragrance combining. Jo Malone is synonymous with luxury fragrances for both the individual and the home.
This previously limited edition cologne was released as part of their Tea collection in Spring 2011 which released limited edition fragrances such as Assam and Grapefruit, Fresh Mint Leaf, Sweet Lemon and Sweet Milk. Since that collection, I have been deeply in love with the Earl Grey and Cucumber scent but since it was limited, I’m using it sparingly on special occasions. But fret not, this year Jo Malone has brought back this lovely scent and now it is in 100ml instead of just 30ml.
Earl Grey and Cucumber :
“A British tradition…afternoon tea. A fragrance with a burst of bergamot, distinct to Earl Grey, and the cool succulence of crunchy cucumber. Counterpoised with a sweet base of beeswax, vanilla and musk. Reviving and refined.’’
I love to wear this for work as it’s a very clean and crisp scent and probably, the cucumber does give a refreshing touch when paired with the crispness of the bergamot couple with Earl Grey. This is tea, definitely captured very nicely and it is not too over-powering. After the dry-down, I do notice a slightly creaminess in it, a very warm and sensual one at best, probably best described as a healthy dose of milk added to tea. Definitely worth checking out if you’re an Earl grey tea fanatic who constantly needs her dose of Earl Grey during afternoon tea breaks.
I really do hope that this lovely scent would be made into their luxurious body creams and body wash!
