Microsoft Surface Pro in Singapore Real Soon

28 May 2013, Singapore – Finally, the wait is almost over. Microsoft Singapore announced yesterday the arrival of the much-awaited Microsoft Surface Pro. On the 3rd June 2013, you can get your hands on this sleek device at selected Challenger, Harvey Norman and Newstead stores (details at the bottom). Needless to say, it will also be making appearance at the upcoming PC Show 2013 at the Singapore Expo on 6 to 9 June 2013.

The reason why many reviews recommended consumers to wait for the Surface Pro is because it simply delivers the best experience – in terms of performance and usability. It is simply a PC that doubles up as a tablet or, if you like, a tablet that is just as powerful as a laptop. As such, with the Surface Pro, consumers can do virtually everything that they can do on a PC ranging from using the much needed Office software to gaming, for example. The Metropolitant team would very much be keen to confirm the usability/performance of DOTA 2 on the Surface Pro. Not to mention that it runs on Windows 8 Pro!

The Surface family is growing with the availability of Surface Pro now in Singapore. Surface Pro is inspired by the rising demand for a more mobile but connected workforce of today,” said Helene Auriol, Managing Director, Microsoft Singapore. “With the extension of the Surface family in Singapore, we hope to deliver the ultimate ultraportable business device that does not compromise on performance and efficiency.”

Here are the notable features of the Surface Pro:

  • Windows 8 Pro: This means that you can run your favorite PC application on this baby.
  • Processor capabilities: Features the Intel® core i5TM processor that is built using the latest technologies, including HD graphics, to deliver impressive speed and responsiveness.
  • Surface pen: Surface Pro includes a pen that lets you jot down ideas anytime, anywhere. This is one distinct advantage over the iPad.
  • Apps aplenty: With the growing list of apps available through the Microsoft store, you can be sure to stay productive and connected (this is more important than the former J).
  • Touch and Type Cover keyboard: Sold separately, you can get a cover for your Surface Pro that you can actually type on. Touch Cover clicks in to Surface and offers a slim, spill-resistant keyboard.  If you prefer to ‘feel’ your keyboard much like myself, the Type Cover keyboard is also available!
