Sofitel Singapore City Centre Celebrates National Day with Two Meaningful Staycation Packages

In celebration of Singapore’s 56 th birthday, Sofitel Singapore City Centre presents two locally inspired staycation packages eligible for SingapoRediscovers voucher redemptions. Thoughtfully designed for couples and families, the staycation experiences include gourmet culinary offerings highlighting local heritage flavours, as well as exclusive merchandise from Autism Resource Centre, a not-for-profit charity based in Singapore dedicated to serving children and adults on the autism spectrum. The National Day Special “Stay for Good” and “Do Good with The Family” staycation packages are available for bookings via Klook for stays between 19 July and 15 August 2021.

As part of Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s Culinary Masters Series featuring a diverse lineup of high profile chefs and home cooks, gourmands can also look forward to delighting their palates with a special collaboration with Da Dong Prawn Noodles. From 23 to 29 August 2021, the hotel’s Executive Chinese Chef Andrew Chong joins hands with the popular noodle stall’s second-generation owner Watson Lim in celebration of local hawker culture with a delicious set lunch menu of Singaporean favourites. Diners can continue enjoy Chef Andrew’s delectable local-themed set menus at Racines available throughout August as well as special cocktails and tapas at 1864, the hotel’s lobby bar and lounge.

Local-themed Culinary Experiences (1 to 31 August 2021)

Da Dong Prawn Noodles Pop-up and Local-themed Set Menus at Racines

Paying homage to Singapore’s rich culinary heritage, Racines presents gastronomic set menus for the month of August, featuring Executive Chinese Chef Andrew Chong’s renditions of Singaporean hawker fare and a special pop-up by Watson Lim of Da Dong Prawn Noodles.

From 23 to 29 August, as part of the hotel’s Culinary Masters Series, Racines’ set lunch menu will feature the well-loved Da Dong Prawn Noodles as a main course. The second collaboration of the series, Watson Lim and his team of second-generation owners will satisfy palates with a recipe perfected by his father since 1966. The deceptively simple prawn noodles is famed for its well-balanced broth and has received its stamp of approval from locals. Light yet flavourful, each mouthful of vermicelli is soaked in its sumptuous goodness alongside fresh tiger prawns. A generous sprinkling of crispy pork lard, spring onions and bean sprouts complete the dish.

Diners can continue to enjoy Chef Andrew’s irresistible specialties for the remaining days of August. Delicious must-tries are a luxed up Kaya Toast Set made with Foie Gras with Kaya Butter, Passion Fruit Aioli and Light Kopi Espuma, as well as Char Kway Teow featuring Wok-fried Flat Rice Noodles with Lobster, Cockles, Chinese Sausages and Bean Sprouts. Dessert is a decadent affair with an indulgent Milo Tart by Executive Pastry Chef Sam Leong featuring Cocoa Shortcrust with Walnut Pralines, Milo Viennoise Sponge, Milomisu, Whipped Coffee Cream and Milo Ice Cream.

Cocktails and Tapas at 1864

1864 celebrates Singapore’s 56 th birthday with three innovative cocktails and mouth-watering local-inspired tapas. The cocktails are elevated with local accents and affectionately named after popular Singaporean delights – “Chendol”, “Chrysanthemum & Osmanthus” and “Sour Plum”. Guests can chose to pair their tipples with delicious tapas highlights of Chicken Satay, Fried Fish Balls with Chilli Crab Sauce, Deep-fried Shrimp Paste Chicken Wings and French Fries with Curry Salted Egg Aioli.
