16 October 2013, Singapore – A favourite of French style icon Jane Birkin and Hollywood stars Natalie Portman and Liv Tyler, Singaporeans will soon be able to own a piece of Parisian chic – Bensimon sneakers.
Since 1975, Bensimon has been the epitome of bobo (bourgeois-bohemian) chic – the quintessentially French style of looking perfectly imperfect. The range of fresh, pop colours and classic sneaker styles will have Singapore fashion enthusiasts falling in love with its Parisian chic.
Bensimon was started by two brothers, Serge and Yves Bensimon, who started hand-dyeing white military surplus sneakers in the 70s. The rainbow-hued shoes quickly gained popularity as a French fashion staple. The Bensimon brand grew into a full lifestyle concept—including Women, Men, and Kids ready-to-wear, accessories, and lifestyle products. What they all have in common is that they are quality products that combine comfort, sophistication, style and French chic into every item.
Bensimon will be available from mid-October at Robinsons Orchard, followed by CommonThread multi-label concept store at ION Orchard B2-18, opening 1 November 2013.
CommonThread will carry the classic, iconic Bensimon styles, together with selected accessories ranging from backpacks, tote bags to iPad covers.
“Bensimon occupies a unique space in the sneaker world as it is both comfortable and stylish. The canvas is artisanally dyed in Europe and the result is a range of beautiful colours that will win the heart of any fashionista. Bensimon believes in colours so much that it doesn’t create a black pair!” said Rachel Ang, Marketing Manager of Moda Pacifica.
