Oroton 2014 collection is inspired by architectural elements both man-made and natural. Inform key shapes, embossed leather treatments and textile prints as seen in the Monaco collection of mini bags and the deconstructed croc print found on silk shirts, apparel and footwear.
The impact of repetition is embraced through the evolution of classic collections such as the Alpine and 1938. The new Alpine Chain Tote features custom hardware in a repeated link pattern inspired by the popular Alpine Hobo, while the 1938 Mesh collection uses laser cut metallic leather overlaid onto calf skin. As the statement shape of the brand, the 1938 is also offered in quality top grain leather as used by Oroton in the 1960’s.
‘Entourage’ makes a return this season and highlights the Season 1 colour palette of navy, indigo and chambray with accents of powder purple and aqua sea.
In Season 2, higher notes of colour are used as a vehicle to punctuate fluid lines and softer silhouettes. The collection is transformed using hues of wood rose, silk pink and sunlight taken from nature’s own organic architectural form. New materials such as coated poly trimmed in leather are launched for the first time and offer versatility in design and an entry into the brand through the O Stripe collection of Weekender Totes and Across Body Bags.
Australian Merino from wool houses in Victoria tie the knitwear collection to Oroton’s founding origins and provide a soft compliment to the wider ready-to-wear collection. Highlight pieces form this range include croc printed leather skirts in luxe soft lamb nappa, the Axel leather sleeve trench and side drape skirts and dresses in easy-to-wear jersey.
Oroton’s start to 2014 is about embracing the core collections that embody our legacy and evolving them to surprise and delight lovers of the brand.
