Run For Your Lives: Halloween Edition 2014

Be prepared to Run For Your Lives, as the world’s premier Zombie-infested three to five-kilometre obstacle course returns to Singapore this Halloween. The second edition of Run For Your Lives will take place at the Grand Lawn, West Coast Park on 25 October 2014 from 12nn to 8pm.

Originally from the United States, Singapore quickly caught the Zombie fever with a wildly successful first-ever Run For Your Lives race at the Padang in January this year. With over 10,000 participants taking part in the initial experience, the second edition of Run For Your Lives looks set to once again take over our little red dot.

Participants can choose to either sign up as a Survivor or a Zombie. As a Survivor, the goal is simple: to get to the Safe Zone with a least one life remaining. The only catch is that there will be several hundred Zombies standing in your way. Survivors start off with three lives (flags) strapped around their waist, and have to make their way past challenging obstacles all across the five- kilometre route to reach the safe zone. Successfully navigate through the Zombie-laden obstacle course and you’ll earn yourself a Survivor’s medal.

Zombies, on the other hand, have one job: satisfy your insatiable appetite for humans by grabbing flags off survivors. In order to become a full-fledged Zombie, one will have to go through an elaborate zombification process with full Zombie hair and makeup done up so as to ensure that all Zombies look the part.

The Zombie-infested race will be held at West Coast Park, a more spacious venue that will easily accommodate all obstacle and Zombie zones. This will allow for the route to alternate between open spaces and narrow pathways to give survivors either the feeling of freedom or impending danger throughout the race. With several blind corners in place, Survivors will not be able to anticipate what lies ahead, while Zombies will have the perfect opportunity to launch sudden attacks.

“After a successful first event, we’re glad to bring Run For Your Lives back to Singapore for the second time in a year. With the run now held at West Coast Park, fans can expect more interesting elements throughout the route. This event is perfect as a group activity for all ages, and that is why we’ve come up with a special group promotion to encourage maximum participation at Run For Your Lives: Halloween Edition,” said Timothy Tan, co-founder of Action X, the local sports entertainment agency responsible for bringing Run For Your Lives to Asia.
