An amateur Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion, the Singapore Fighting Championship (SFC), will host its inaugural event at the historical Singapore Badminton Hall(Now known as Gymkraft) at 100 Guillemard road S399718. The 4 – man MMA tournament is the first event of its kind in Singapore held with the aim to develop home-grown Singaporean amateur MMA fighters by providing them with a platform to enhance their martial arts skills and experience. The first Singaporean amateur MMA Champions in their respective weight category will be crowned at the event. Each winner will receive a Championship belt and a cash prize of $300 Singapore dollars. Arvind Lalwani, the Head Coach at Juggernaut Fight Club and the organizer of SFC said, “Our Goal is to promote the sport of Amateur MMA here in Singapore and to work closely with the Wrestling Federation of Singapore, under their pankration(amateur MMA) umbrella to build a National Team to represent us in regional and international competitions. Also we here at SFC would like to build an amateur fighter’s career and transition them to the pro ranks”.
Aligned to the objectives of inspiring amateur MMA fighters in Singapore, 3 professional MMA fights, have been included in the fight card, under its Pro- MMA banner, GODS
Fighting Championship(GFC). Headlining the pro card will be 2 of Singapore’s most exciting MMA fighters, Syafiq ‘The Slasher’ Samad from Juggernaut Fight Club, with a pro MMA record of 3-1 and Impact MMA’s Garie Tang with a pro MMA record of 4-0.
