Sen-ryo, the premium Japanese cuisine destination known for its tuna specialties and exceptional service, is celebrating its second anniversary in Singapore on May 17, 2023. Originating from Tochigi, Japan in 1999, sen-ryo has expanded to Hong Kong and Singapore, bringing its time-honored craft and omotenashi (wholeheartedly looking after the guest) to a wider audience.
To commemorate this milestone, sen-ryo is hosting a traditional Kaitai (tuna cutting ceremony) on May 17th at 7 pm. Executive Chef Jems Bong and his team of shokunin (artisan chefs) will skillfully perform the choreographed art of cutting a 50kg sustainably farmed bluefin tuna, flown in directly from Amami Oshima, Japan. Guests will have the unique opportunity to witness this intricate process and learn about lesser-known parts of the fish.
Following the Kaitai, there will be a bidding session where guests can express interest in select parts of the fish at a fixed price. Popular akami, chutoro, and otoro cuts will be featured in the exclusive menu, which includes dishes prepared in various ways, such as sashimi, sushi, and grilled. Sen-ryo’s sought-after tuna signatures, including the sen-ryo Maguro Sushi Platter and premium Otoro, will also be available.
Apart from the tuna specials, sen-ryo offers a range of signature dishes, such as the Soft-Shell Crab and Mango Nama Haru Maki, Grilled Crab & Crab Miso, and Zuwaigani Soy Nabe hot pot. On weekdays, signature lunch sets are available, and to round off the dining experience, dessert offerings like Peach Sorbet and Yuzu Sorbet are available for a sweet finish.
The 129-seater restaurant features four separate dining sections, including an impressive sake bar, a lively sushi and grill counter, intimate dining rooms, and two private dining rooms.
