In a revolutionary move for the fitness world, Fitness Movement (FM) brings the first natural bodybuilding championship by the global “Natural Olympia” Organisation to Singapore. Set to take place on 22nd July 2023 at The Singapore Airlines Theatre at Lasalle College of The Arts, the Singapore Regional Natural Classic 2023 represents a significant milestone for the fitness community.
The competition, organised by INBA Singapore and affiliated with the International Natural Association (INBA) and the Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA), promises an equal and drug-free platform for athletes worldwide. “There is no better time than now to provide an even playing field and drug-free platform for athletes of the world who play fair and dream bigger,” states Mr Denny Kakos, the founder and president of INBA/PNBA Global.
Under the leadership of Mr Kevin Chiak, President of INBA Singapore and Fitness Movement, this event marks the beginning of a new era in the world of competitive bodybuilding. With categories available for amateur and professional athletes, this competition is open to individuals of all nationalities, encouraging healthy competition and fostering a global fitness community.
The event anticipates competitors from ages 13 to 79, contending for over 80 different medals. INBA/PNBA Pro Bodybuilder and Singaporean Marcus Koh see this as a pivotal opportunity for Singapore’s athletes to “shine and achieve their goals” on home soil.
With a strong commitment to promoting drug-free sports, Fitness Movement has initiated a non-profit arm, the Singapore Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Movement Federation (SNBFM). This is to spearhead, sanction, and promote drug-free and clean sports in Singapore, reflecting a greater awareness of the detrimental side effects of performance-enhancing drugs.
In line with the fight against doping in sports, INBA Singapore has recognised Anti-Doping Singapore (ADS) as the National Anti-Doping Organisation designated by the Singapore Government. It commits to educating, informing, and testing athletes, thereby ensuring bodybuilding remains a drug-free sport.
