default

Bali’s SAKA Museum, located within AYANA Bali, is launching three new cultural exhibitions in early April 2025, following the island’s revered Nyepi (Day of Silence). These exhibitions offer an in-depth exploration of Balinese traditions, spirituality, and agricultural heritage, providing visitors with a deeper appreciation of the island’s unique cultural landscape .

Exploring Bali’s Rich Heritage

The new exhibitions focus on key aspects of Balinese life and philosophy:

• Kasanga: Nyepi Exhibition – A visual and interactive journey into Bali’s annual Day of Silence, featuring traditional artworks and rituals.

• Subak: The Ancient Order of Bali – An exploration of Bali’s UNESCO-listed water temple system, which has sustained the island’s agricultural success for centuries.

• Heritage Gallery: The Five Elements (Panca Maha Bhuta) – A deep dive into the five core elements of Balinese cosmology, highlighting their role in spirituality and daily life.

These additions complement existing exhibitions such as Ogoh-ogoh: Walking Among Giants and Balinese Astrology, making SAKA Museum a comprehensive cultural hub .

A Destination for Cultural Education

Beyond exhibits, SAKA Museum serves as a cultural learning center, offering free guided visits for schools, students, and researchers. Dr. Judith Bosnak, Director of SAKA Museum, emphasized the museum’s mission to preserve and educate future generations on Balinese traditions .

Since its opening, SAKA Museum has gained recognition as one of Bali’s leading cultural attractions, praised for its immersive and insightful exhibitions.
