BLAXK by ActionCity continues to blur the lines be BLAXK by ActionCity continues to blur the lines between art, design, and spirituality with its latest exhibition, The Not-So-Temple, created by Taiwanese artist Poyun Wang. Held at BLAXK by ActionCity, this immersive showcase transforms the gallery into a contemporary shrine that questions what we worship in a hyper-modern world.

Known for his darkly whimsical sculptures and surreal narratives, Poyun reimagines devotion through the lens of pop culture and consumerism. Within The Not-So-Temple, visitors encounter relic-like figures that feel sacred yet unsettling, merging the spiritual iconography of East Asia with modern symbols of desire and distraction. Each piece reflects Poyun’s signature blend of fine craftsmanship and philosophical edge, inviting visitors to explore where faith, materialism, and art intersect.

The Not-So-Temple marks another chapter in that mission, presenting a dialogue between devotion and design that challenges what it means to be a believer in the modern age.

Venue: BLAXK by ActionCity, Funan Mall, 107 North Bridge Road
Dates: Ongoing through October 2025
Admission: Free

This year, PUTIEN marks its 25th anniversary, cele This year, PUTIEN marks its 25th anniversary, celebrating a journey defined by integrity, consistency, and heart. From Wednesday, 1 October to Wednesday, 15 October 2025, the brand commemorates this milestone with a Triple Rewards promotion for diners islandwide.

Founded by Uncle Fong, a native of Putian in China’s Fujian province, PUTIEN began with a simple mission: to bring the authentic flavours of his hometown to Singapore. When he could not find any eatery serving Putian cuisine, he decided to create his own. Every night, Uncle Fong personally visited Jurong’s seafood wholesale market to select the freshest catch, ensuring that only the best seafood made its way to his kitchen. His dedication earned him both the respect of suppliers and a loyal following of diners who still associate PUTIEN with its founding principle of “Quality Ingredients, Original Taste.”

Today, PUTIEN operates more than 100 outlets across Asia, including locations in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, and the Philippines. The brand’s flagship Kitchener Road outlet continues to hold a Michelin One-Star rating, a recognition that reflects its enduring standards of excellence.

To celebrate its silver anniversary, PUTIEN is rewarding diners with three exclusive perks. Guests can enjoy a complimentary bottle of Spice Mum Chilli Sauce per table, participate in a Spin and Win activity to receive 25 percent off selected signature dishes, and on 15 October, receive a PUTIEN Tote Bag with a surprise gift inside and join the brand’s Birthday Bash at 7.30 p.m., complete with cake.

Guzman y Gomez (GYG) is taking local comfort food Guzman y Gomez (GYG) is taking local comfort food to the next level with its newest creation, the Butter Chicken filling, part of its GYG Goes Local series. Available for a limited time from Monday, 14 October 2025, to Sunday, 23 November 2025, this launch brings together Singapore’s love for bold flavours and GYG’s passion for reimagining fast food.

Developed in collaboration with Copper Chimney Singapore, the Butter Chicken pays tribute to one of the nation’s favourite Indian dishes. The sauce combines tomato, butter, kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves), and khoya (simmered milk solids), resulting in a creamy, aromatic blend that pairs perfectly with GYG’s freshly grilled Guerrero chicken. It is familiar yet exciting, indulgent yet balanced — exactly what you would expect when Mexican zest meets Indian warmth.

For the first time, GYG fans can also enjoy the Butter Chicken as a side sauce, priced at one dollar. It is an easy upgrade that transforms GYG’s signature Chipotle Fries or Nacho Fries into something truly addictive. Diners can also choose the Butter Chicken as a filling in their favourite GYG mains, including burritos, bowls, tacos, and quesadillas, with no additional charge. The item is available across all Guzman y Gomez outlets in Singapore, through the GYG App, and on major delivery platforms.

Pulsii French Bistro & Bar hums with a quiet kind Pulsii French Bistro & Bar hums with a quiet kind of energy. The clinking of glasses, the warmth of woodfire, and the scent of truffle in the air set the stage for an evening where French elegance meets Japanese precision. Helmed by Chef Daisuke Yoshikawa, who trained in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Dominique Bouchet and Lugdunum Bouchon Lyonnais, Pulsii’s refreshed menu is built on refinement, comfort, and soul.

The night began with cocktails that could each stand on their own as a work of art. The Bella Dame blends Stolichnaya Elit, St Germain, and Aperol into a floral, citrus-forward drink that’s both elegant and lively. Chef’s Mugi Mischief, crafted with Hachi Barley Shochu, popcorn syrup, and pineapple juice, tells a personal story inspired by Chef Daisuke’s dog Mugi, with proceeds supporting Action for Singapore Dogs. The Spiced Apple Highball, made with Suntory Kakubin Whisky and house cinnamon-spiced apple syrup, is crisp and refreshing, while the Le Coco Club finishes the lineup with a creamy hint of pandan and coconut that feels like dessert in a glass.

On the plate, the Japanese Oysters with Yuzu Condiment are fresh and briny, brightened with citrus and shallots. The Smoked Trout with Ikura is delicate and layered, pairing buttery fish with bursts of roe and lemon jam. The Tarte Flambee delivers rustic French comfort, while the Merguez Sausage brings smoky spice softened by melted Gruyère. The showstopper, though, is the Truffle Soufflé Omelette with Beef Stew. It’s airy, rich, and deeply satisfying, proving that simplicity executed perfectly still reigns supreme.
