11 December 2012, Singapore – Already making waves as the highest-grossing opening weekend in Disney animation history with box office takings of US$ 49.1 million, Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph is on its way to be one the top animated movies of all time. In Singapore, Wreck-It Ralph will hit the big screens on 20 December 2012.
Directed by Rich Moore with the talented star voices of John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch, Wreck-It Ralph is a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping adventure. The bad-guy character (voice of John C. Reilly) in a classic arcade game Fix-It Felix Jr has been overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, Jr. (voice of Jack McBrayer), the good-guy star of their game who always gets to save the day. Tired of playing the role of a bad guy, Ralph takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a journey across the arcade through multiple generations of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero. After sneaking into a new first-person shooter game Hero’s Duty and eventually unleashes a deadly enemy King Candy. Many characters from classic video games Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros, Pac Man, Sonic The Hedgehog and House of the Dead will be making cameo appearances.
In conjunction with the release of this movie in Singapore, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Singapore is collaborating with Capitaland’s Bugis Junction for an All-Star Wreckin’ Fix-It Felix Challenge with the original Fix-It Felix Jr game from the movie! That’s right folks, you get the chance to experience the classic arcade game, and also pit your skills against other players if you participate in this event. Local celebrities Aloysius Pang, Kimberly Chia and HOTFM913 radio personality Gerald Koh aka Boy Thunder will form three teams for this challenge where they will compete against one another to take the top spot.
Participants will go through preliminary and final rounds in which the top scorer will win attractive prizes.
