Casio Singapore celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Casio BABY-G in Singapore today with a smashing Girl’s Party at Avalon at Marina Bay Sands. The celebration in Singapore follows a kick-off party in Seoul, Korea, earlier this year with K-pop sensation, Girls Generation.
Guests also got to experience the transformation of the BABY-G brand through a stunning showcase of iconic BABY-G timepieces over the last two decades and caught the unveil of brand new BABY-G models – the BA- 110BC, G-LIDE BGA-180, BGD-180 and Neon Marine Series BGA-171. Amidst this visual spectacle, the crowd favorite was indeed the 20th Anniversary BABY-G BGD-500 designed reminiscent of the very first and classic BABY-G DW-520.
Mr Shunichi Watanabe, General Manager of Casio Singapore, said, “This is an important year for Casio as we are celebrating both the 20th Anniversary of BABY-G and the 40th Anniversary of Casio’s timepiece. BABY-G is not only known for its shock and water resistance, but also stands for a lifestyle that incorporates fashion, sports, music and the arts which always shines through in all the BABY-G designs.”
Since it was first introduced in the early 1990s, BABY-G was a hit with young ladies and put digital watches on the map of women’s fashion. After 20 successful years and more than 30 million watches sold, BABY-G has now grown from its signature “Tough & Cute” to a new and innovative “Tough & Cool” concept. The latest BABY-G models also sport a new and refreshing BABY-G logo designed in the same typographical style as the Casio G-SHOCK brand.
