Shirokiya has over 285 outlets in Japan and in 16 outlets in other parts of Asia, opened their second outlet in Singapore. The new outlet at CHIJMES specialises in serving exquisitely prepared izakaya-style of food, with a strong focus on bishoku-ryori, which means food that is good for you from the inside-out.
The menu boasts an array of dishes containing key ingredients like collagen, hyaluronic acid, capsaicin and lycopene, which promotes cellular renewal, increases metabolism, supports cardiac health and neutralises free radicals in the body. Although it sounds a little odd ingesting hyaluronic acid I’m so used to applying on my face during the facial sessions, you will hardly notice its presence.
Foodies can look forward to a bigger menu at both outlets, with new dishes featuring more of shio–koji, including the Cold Tofu Marinated with Shio-koji, which is only produced in limited portions per day ($8.80), Fresh Salmon Belly Yukke ($11.80), Bonito Fish Marinated With Ponzu Sauce ($7.80) as well as Steamed Rice in Traditional Tomato Sauce With Melted Cheese Served in Hot Stone Bowl ($14).
Sushi-lovers can revel to a wider selection of sushi introduced to the menu, such as the Broiled Pressed Mackerel ($15.80) and Salmon Belly Roll Sushi Topped With Minced Salmon ($11.80), which have been adjusted to prices that are more value-for-money and wallet-friendly.
