UPDATE: Last we heard, this establishment has changed hands. Owners are different now.
Good food, collectible toys and superheroes come together at Superhero Concept, a unique themed café that combines healthy meals, retail therapy and the idea that we can all be heroes.
Open since September 2014, the café serves only food fit for heroes, cooked using olive oil and purified water with no added MSG, pork or lard. The popular Battle Hunger Bento ($10) is a hit with everyday cubicle heroes and the Pow Wow Bento ($6) is a value-for-money meal in the heart of the business district.
The fun and colorful space also serve up retail therapy, from cute Iron Man and Batman bobbleheads and Marvel and DC T-shirts and wallets to rare memorabilia for the more serious collector.
Patrons are invited to play superhero with Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s mask and Captain America’s shield, and braver diners can take on fun challenges to reap rewards — arm-wrestle with the resident superhero (they get a free drink if they win); share how they plan to save the world on social media and hashtag #superheroconcept (for 20 percent off their meal); and post a pic of the café on social media (posts with at least 200 likes gets a free meal with a superhero).
There’s also a takeaway option for time-strapped folks — Bento sets are delivered faster than a speeding bullet, and delivery is free with a minimum spending of $50 within the Raffles Place area.
Superhero Concept is open for dine-in from 11.30 am to 4 pm on weekdays, with evenings and weekends reserved for events. The space is available for birthday parties, corporate functions, and classes.
In December 2014, Superhero Concept will launch Superhero Academy, an innovative program that helps kids realize their potential through a series of fun and educational workshops designed to enhance confidence and imagination and encourage altruism; and Superhero Tennis, a unique tennis coaching course inspired by popular superhero characters.
Superhero Concept Café is at 37A Boat Quay, S049826,
