The stage is set for the final match of the WTA Finals. Serena Williams will be out for blood to avenge her loss to Simona Halep earlier in the tournament during the round robin stages, while Simona is full of confidence coming into the finals with a string of great wins.
Both Serena’s and Simona’s semi-final match couldn’t be any more different – Serena eked out a tough 3-setter over Caroline Wozniacki 2-6 6-3 7-6(6), while Simona cruised pass Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 6-2.
When asked about facing Simona in the final, Serena said, “I’m going to win 3 games, that’s my first goal.” Also answering questions about her serve, she was happy that “at least it (her serve) showed up today, hopefully it will show up tomorrow!”
Whichever way the match goes, it should be an interesting match to watch. Will Serena exact vengeance? Or will Simona cap her stellar year with her biggest title till date?
