The guys from GRUB have just opened a new noodle bar on Rangoon Road that will satiate your late night noodle cravings.
GRUB Noodle Bar’s wholesome beef and vegetable broth is boiled for long hours to extract the full flavor from the beef bones. With no added MSG, you can slurp the last drops of the soup! The thing that makes it stand out from other beef noodles is that, GRUB Noodle Bar prides itself on offering only quality beef with its noodles. Take your pick from grades of beef often only found in high-end steakhouses, starting from a pasture-fed beef brisket ($12) to a melt-in- the-mouth 150-day grain fed Angus ribeye ($19). Prime cuts make a great difference as the sliced beef melts in your mouth, complemented by the sweet broth, it’s oh-so-yummy.
While some found the 100% beef meatballs a tad too dry as it was fully cooked, we found it to be flavorful and robust. The preservative-free egg noodles are made fresh daily, and the chinchalok sauce adds that ‘oomph‘ to the noodles. The noodles come with house sauce, beef balls, minced beef, mushroom stew and a side soup.
GRUB’s Assam Laksa ($13) is sweet, tangy and a tad spicy. The aromatic spice paste is made in-house and simmered with our stock to make a fantastic fish gravy. Generous toppings such as fresh prawns, cucumber, pineapple chunks and mint makes this a great alternative if you don’t take beef.
Don’t miss the exciting range of creative seafood appetizers including Steamed Live Tiger Prawns ($14) in sake, garlic and ginger glaze, Venus Clams ($11) steamed in beer, toasted ginger and lemongrass broth, and Hokkaido Scallop ($15) with mustard glaze and mandarin orange salad. These dishes go well with a mug of nice cold beer!
The noodle bar will feature 2 German craft beers on tap, to complete this quaint late night dining experience.
