Following a S$7 million makeover, Shokutsu Ten is back. Bringing the unique sights, sounds and flavors of downtown Toyko and Osaka alive again at Jurong Point. Showcasing a total of nine restaurants, over 10 cultural kiosks and an amazing selection of Japanese specialties.
And the experience comes complete with authentic architectural detailing and historic icons specially imported from Japan.
Shokutsu Ten comprises two distinct themes: Tokyo (old Edo style) and the modern-day Osaka. Designed by Japanese interior designers, features such as a Kabuki-inspired entrance façade, large neon signboards, colorful Japanese kites, lanterns and figurines and a ceiling that transits from day to night set the scene for a distinctly Japanese atmosphere.
The renowned Japanese pasta restaurant, Kabe no Ana, has been re-imagined as Kabe no Ana – The Café. Exclusive to Jurong Point, the outlet has added to its ranks a resident Kabe no Ana chef from Japan, and serves up a café menu that includes all-day breakfast, desserts and specialty coffee.
Among the new restaurant concepts is Shabu Tontei, a Shabu Shabu and hotpot specialty restaurant with a focus on premium Kurobuta (black pork) and wagyu beef from Japan, and WAttention Plaza, a Japanese-inspired ‘pop-up’ event space with over 10 retail and food kiosks featuring various facets of Japanese culture – from traditional Japanese handicrafts to delicious snacks, sauces and dried goods.
Highlights at WAttention Plaza include the Cronut – a cross between a donut and a croissant in 12 different flavors; and Cuppa Karaage – bite-sized chicken served in a cup, accompanied by one of seven unique Japanese sauces. Diners can also look forward to different thematic events at WAttention Plaza every month.
Returning to Shokutsu Ten are favorites such as Men-Ichi Ramen, which has doubled in floor space to serve its growing fan base. And, Ichiban Boshi replaces Ichiban Sushi to reflect the changing tastes of visitors to Jurong Point Shopping Centre.
“The exciting new Shokutsu Ten concept reflects RE&S’ mission to stay at the forefront of Japanese dining, and introduce innovative, yet quintessentially Japanese experiences to Japanese food lovers in Singapore,” said John Yek, managing director, RE&S.
Shokutsu Ten (Japanese Food Steet) is located at the basement of Jurong Point Shopping Center.
