Make SG50 extra special by kick-starting your year with a unique self-portrait. National Gallery Singapore commemorates Singapore’s 50th birthday with Portraits of the People, a fun community outreach which rallies the Singapore public to submit self-portraits and pledge their commitment to the country.
These self-portraits will be incorporated into the Art Connector, a new and permanent 290m walkway which will stretch from City Hall MRT station to the entrance of the new Gallery along Coleman Street. The finished walkway will serve as a meaningful tribute to the people of Singapore.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and local celebrities like Paul Foster and Belinda Lee have already sketched their portraits. Join in the Portraits of the People fun and who knows who you might spot next at the booth near you!
Start the New Year right by reflecting on your hopes and dreams for Singapore – come join in the self-portrait movement today! Portraits of the People will travel to the various locations island-wide from now till May 2015.
