The Superfacialist range of skincare was created with  the knowledge of one of UK’s most accomplished facialist, Una Brennan. She is now a “celebrity” facialist and her clientele includes well-known celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller and Laura Bailey. You can read more about it here.

I would be reviewing Superfacialist’s best-selling items in a two-part series.

Vitamin C Brighten+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil (200ml, $41.50)

Vitamin C Brighten

This cleansing oil is from Superfacialist’s brightening range. Cleansing oils have become the norm in regular makeup removal regimes for many women. The idea behind a cleansing oil is behind this idea of “like removes like” – dirt and clogged pores are removed more thoroughly with an oil-based cleanser instead.

The key ingredients in the cleansing oil are olive, grapeseed and rosehip oils that provide hydration as you cleanse and antioxidants such as rosemary for its anti-ageing properties.

The cleansing oil is to be used on dry skin as this would help dissolve makeup, dirt and oil better than on a wet face. Compared to other brands of cleansing oils which require 1-2 pumps, only a coin-sized amount is required for the entire face. By slowly massaging the cleansing oil on your face, it helps to dissolve makeup, dirt and oils.

Next, “emulsify” the cleansing oil by adding warm water. The cleansing oil dramatically changes to a milky solution which is easy to rinse off with running water. My skin was left very refreshed and clean. The best part of this cleansing ritual was the scent of the oil. By inhaling the citrusy, orange scent was very therapeutic and relaxing after a long day of work. After this step, I follow with my usual cleanser to ensure that my face is completely removed of dirt and makeup.

Rose Hydrate Radiance Day Cream SPF15 (75ml, $49.00)

SuperFacialist_Rose_DayCream-2_1024x1024

This day cream is from Superfacialist’s Radiance range and it is suitable for those who have dehydrated and dry skin.It helps to hydrate, replenish and protects dry sensitive skins. The key ingredients are soothing cucumber oil to nourish dry skin.

The SPF15 in the cream helps to protect skin from harmful UV rays which causes premature skin ageing and skin cancer.  The cream is very lightweight in texture and the rose scent is quite overpowering. If you are not a fan of rose scents, you probably have to give this one a miss.

Superfacialist products are formulated without  mineral oils/parabens, animal ingredients and synthetic colours. No animal testing too!
