Goodwood Park Hotel’s famed Durian Fiesta will feature 13 meticulously handcrafted treasures this year,
Introduced in 1983, this annual affair does not disappoint in its 33rd year, boasting a wide range of premium quality treats made with D24 and “Mao Shan Wang” varieties. New delights for 2016 are Durian Black Sea Salt Caramel Cake; a decadent treat with sweet and salty flavours, Durian Kueh Lapis; a brilliant take on a classic favourite, Durian Crunchy Chocolate-Hazelnut Tartlet, a range of colourful Mini D24 Durian Ice Cream Bars, Durian Pudding topped with Osmanthus Jelly and “Mao Shan Wang” Mousse Cake (500g). The blockbuster hit of 2015 – Durian Rainbow Ice Cream Cake – makes a return this year with an all-new larger version, complementing the petite beauties that were the rave of the season.
From 4 March to 17 July 2016, these luscious confections can be purchased at the hotel’s Deli, along with other much-loved signature items such as the Durian Puff, D24 Durian Mousse Cake, Durian Crêpe and D24 or “Mao Shan Wang” Durian Ice Cream Tubs.
“Mao Shan” Madness

The popular “Mao Shan” Power Puff; a jumbo-sized profiterole will return for a limited period along with the brand new “Mao Shan Wang” Mousse Cake ($62 for 500g, image on the right), which is a much-awaited luxurious adaptation of the hotel’s very first durian creation, the Durian Mousse Cake made with D24 pulp.
From 28 May to 17 July 2016, Coffee Lounge will also be serving its much-lauded Dessert buffet with durian pastries during lunch and dinner.

DURIAN BLACK SEA SALT CARAMEL CAKE | $13 per slice; $85 for whole cake
Hawaiian black sea salt is used in this luscious cake to complement the hefty D24 durian and caramel flavours, adding feather-light savoury touches to this creation. The glistening top layer of caramel is dotted with dark-as-night salt crystals, making this cake an avant-garde centrepiece.
DURIAN KUEH LAPIS | $12 per slice; $62 for whole cake
The classic layered cake famed for its unmistakable buttery flavour and spice fragrance is now presented in a magnificent new form, whereby layers of pulpy D24 durian mousse and almond sponge are framed by the golden ‘multi-layer’ cake, resulting in a unique version of this traditional confection. Every bite holds varying textures, making this a must-have to usher in the durian season.
DURIAN CRUNCHY CHOCOLATE-HAZELNUT TARTLET | $43 for six pieces
These elegant mini tarts topped with delicate gold flakes are filled with a layer of D24 durian pulp and milk chocolate-hazelnut mixture, boasting a crunchy texture from within. The delicious roasted nuts and richness from the durian are perfect with an afternoon cuppa.
MINI D24 DURIAN ICE CREAM BAR | $6 per bar; $30 for a box of six assorted flavours
These oh-so-cute 3-inch treats will satisfy both durian and ice cream cravings. Painstakingly handmade with pure D24 durian pulp, these dainty ice cream popsicles come in six gorgeous flavours – Original; Dark chocolate; White chocolate with rainbow sprinkles; Milk chocolate; Pink chocolate; and Milk chocolate with almonds. With the exception of Original, a version which purists will enjoy, the rest are coated with a crunchy chocolate shell and topped with various embellishments.
DURIAN RAINBOW ICE CREAM CAKE | $12 per slice, $52 for whole cake
For 2016, the hotel has introduced a 10.5-inch long version of the cake that will undoubtedly be a cheerful addition to any gathering. This is due to the raving success of the petite showstopper introduced in 2015, and numerous requests by guests for a large version of the vividly-coloured sponge hugging a core of creamy durian ice cream embedded with D24 pulp.
DURIAN PUDDING TOPPED WITH OSMANTHUS JELLY | $6.80++ per individual serving, available only for dine-in at Min Jiang
A balanced blend of intense and subtle flavour profiles, a rich D24 durian pudding is crowned with osmanthus jelly to make a light and refreshing dessert.
DESSERT BUFFET WITH DURIAN SPECIALITIES AT COFFEE LOUNGE | Available only from 28 May to 17 July 2016, during lunch and dinner
During this limited period, Coffee Lounge will introduce the much-anticipated treat for durian fans; a dessert buffet which features a tempting range of durian pastries in addition to the regular desserts. Six D24 durian creations; the all-new Mini Durian Coffee Éclair; Durian Crunchy Chocolate-Hazelnut Tartlet, Durian Kueh Lapis, Durian Mousse Cake, Durian Puff and a live station highlight – á la minute Durian Pancakes, will be showcased among the spread that includes delectable cakes, hot and chilled local desserts, ice cream and more.
