Ninja Bowl is the third outlet by The Astronauts Group that also owns, Chillax Café and Babette Restaurant & Bar.
Ninja Bowl offers CBD diners an extensive menu filled with unique all-day brunch options, sandwiches and the piece de resistance – ‘Ninja Bowls’. These bowls comprise Japanese-inspired items such as aburi chashu (torched pork belly) and yaki unagi (grilled eel) and options of padding them up with quinoa, orzo pasta, or a proprietary rice blend.
Customers simply place their orders at the counter and meals are prepped a la minute and served to the tables. Prices at Ninja Bowl are all nett cost and the restaurant does not have service charge.
Says Darren Wee, founder and ‘towkay’ of the group says: “ We wanted to create a spot in this iconic dining commune that provides a convivial place to congregate, relax and at the same time indulge in our range of one-bowl meals at the best prices.”
Bowls start out carb-free for those seeking a lighter option and customers have the option to choose hearty add-ons such as Ninja Rice; a blend of vinegared Japanese pearl rice and brown rice with seaweed flakes, Orzo Pasta; a rice-shaped short-cut pasta tossed with honey, multigrain mustard, miso and chilli or a heap of Garden Greens – all for a top up of $2. Another trendy option is the high protein White Quinoa for an additional $3.
Besides the one-meal bowls, Ninja Bowl’s menu includes a substantial selection of all-day brunch items in its line-up. Portions are far from meagre as each makes for a princely meal with the substantial portions.
Other tasty treats at Ninja Bowl include, Poutine ($14), Cauli Pops ($10), Bacon Tempura ($10) and a selection of daily changing sliced cakes ($7). There is also a weekday Tea Time Set ($10.90) available from 3pm onwards with where diners can get a slice of cake with Smitten coffee or your favourite teas.
