“Hey baby, lets have a staycation!” says the other half.
“Sure!” As I proceed to check the website for cheap hotels.
“But, I want it to be near the MRT, in town, good food nearby, comfortable, high speed wifi, and most importantly, the rooms needs to be photogenic! So I can instagram!”
“I hope its cheap too” mutters under my breath.

Fret not, the Metropolitant Team checks out Hotel Mono in Chinatown. Hotel Mono is a newly opened 46 room hotel which offers a contemporary take on the traditional heritage shop house. (Note: Official opening will be in late January 2017)
In a bustling city like Singapore, Hotel Mono is stone’s throw away from all the good food in Chinatown and it has amazing looking rooms. With photogenic rooms for you to take all those hipster OOTD and even photoshoots, comfortable and accesible. We simply love their black and white interior and had a fantastic day doing photoshoots within the hotel.
The person behind the design amazing looking boutique hotel is none other than William Chan of SPACEDGE DESIGNS. We didn’t have a chance to speak to him but we love the smart use of limited space and how each room brings to mind a chic minimalistic Japanese home.
Our only gripe? None of the rooms in this property comes with a bath tub, and the street can be a little noisy. None of that matters when you realize the WIFI at this property is strong and fast enough for our editor to play a game of DOTA 2. The rooms are really really affordable and booked our room for less than $120 bucks on Agoda!
*Psst*
A big shout out to Glenn Quah, the General Manager who happens to be on-site when we checked in. Thank you for the rooms tour and telling us a little more about Hotel Mono. We will defintely be back if we need to get away for a weekend or simply a photoshoot in a minimalistic room. Great location, strong wifi, amazing service and beautiful rooms, a formula for success!
