Havaianas announced an exclusive collection designed by Reality to Idea, the design studio built by iconic graphic artist Joshua Vides. Inspired by Los Angeles’ influence on international counter-culture, the collection celebrates the bohemian spirit of Venice Beach, fused with Joshua’s signature black and white illustration style.
To celebrate the launch, Havaianas and Reality to Idea will hold a 1-weekend-only pop-up store at 1306 Abbot Kinney in Los Angeles on July 10 and 11. Guests will be invited to shop the collection and enjoy a gallery experience created by RTI.
“Being raised in Southern California, anytime we would hear or see the Havaianas brand was because we were near the beach. We wanted to develop a ‘Beach Essentials’ collection that you could pack up and hit the sand with,” said Joshua Vides, founder of Reality to Idea.
“The incredible thing about collaborations is exactly the exchange of universes they allow and how we can connect with a different audience through the language of an artist like Joshua and his team. Havaianas is an iconic Brazilian brand and this collaboration mixes it with all the authenticity of Venice Beach. The street universe has been gaining strength for our brand and it made perfect sense to open the range of collaborations with these partners that help us tell this story” said Fernanda Romano, CMO at Alpargatas.
The co-designed collection consists of one TOP style and one Tradi Zori style flip flops, following the same graphic of RTI’s iconic illustrations in black and white. The collection will be available at www.havaianas.com.sg on 8 July 2021, 10AM.
The Havaianas Top Flip-flops RTI will retail at $80 and the Havaianas Tradi Zori Flip-flops RTI will retail at $175.
