HONOR OF KINGS BY TIMI STUDIO GROUP TO GLOBAL GAMERS BY THE END OF THIS YEAR

Honor of Kings 王者荣耀, is getting a worldwide release. Today, developer Level Infinite announced that it’s bringing Honor of Kings to the rest of the world and that invites to a closed beta would be coming soon.

Honor of Kings is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena (also known as MOBAs) similar to Riot’s League of Legends or Valve’s DOTA 2. In Honor of Kings, players can choose characters from Chinese mythology to build their teams, and the game has extensive social features like chat integration that uses popular Chinese social apps like QQ and WeChat. It’s not known if these features will be available in the worldwide release of Honor of Kings or if they’ll be replaced with apps more entrenched in the Western market like Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.

The company had in 2016 launched an international adaptation of Honor Of Kings called Arena Of Valor, which was not a major success. This time, however, it will release the same game played in China.

However, this latest update is also generating buzz regarding Tencent’s plans for Arena of Valor, which is the western version of Honor of Kings, available outside China. The company revealed the Esports roadmap for the game last December. Players are currently awaiting an official statement from the company on the future of Arena of Valor.
