From September 13-15, 2024, Desaru Coast in Johor, Malaysia, will transform into a vibrant hub of music, art, food, and family-friendly activities with the highly anticipated Ombak Festival. This three-day extravaganza promises a unique blend of international and local talent, culinary delights, and immersive experiences, making it the ultimate weekend getaway.
Music & Performances
The festival boasts a stellar lineup of international headliners, including pop culture icon Grace Jones, Grammy-winning R&B star Macy Gray, and Swedish rock band The Cardigans. In addition to these global acts, the Ombak Main Stage will feature 16 hours of performances from notable regional artists such as Alena Murang, Thee Marloes, and Aisyah Aziz.
Culinary Delights
Food enthusiasts can look forward to a gastronomic journey with pop-ups and takeovers by Michelin-starred chefs and award-winning mixologists. Highlights include the Ember Beach Club Brunch by Chef Andrew Walsh, a kitchen takeover by Carbon KL, Latin Street Flavours by Feliz, and Flavours of Borneo by Reka: bar, Vér, and Chocha Foodstore.
Visual Arts & Craft
Art lovers will be enthralled by intricate installations that celebrate the region’s artistic heritage. Featured works include fluid metal sculptures by Abdul Multhalib Musa and the Shore Debris Table installation by Ernest Goh. The festival will also host marketplaces such as Dia Guild’s Southeast Asian fashion and lifestyle collection and the local artisanal designs at Lokal Market.
Ombak Kids
Ombak Kids ensures that even the youngest attendees have a blast with activities like the Silent Disco Kids edition, Junglewalla eco-adventures, kite flying, and interactive workshops. This dedicated program offers a variety of engaging and educational activities for children and families.
