From July 3 to October 8, 2024, Raffles Courtyard at Raffles Hotel Singapore will host the first-ever Regional Hawker Showcase. This event celebrates the diverse and rich flavours of Southeast Asian street food, spotlighting the talents and stories of regional hawker heroes.
Event Highlights
The showcase features four renowned hawkers from across Southeast Asia, each presenting their speciality dishes in the lush alfresco setting of Raffles Courtyard. Each hawker will be available for one week, offering guests a unique culinary experience.
• July 3-9: Pak Buyung Haryanto from Bandung, Indonesia brings his famous Pork Martabak, a crispy roti packed with savoury ingredients like eggs, coriander, onions, ham, preserved meats, seasoned bacon, and smoked ham, served with spicy sambal matah.
• August 7-13: Madam Ho Thi Tha from Hue, Vietnam introduces Banh Khoai, a crispy savoury pancake made with her milled rice flour, topped with fresh shrimp, squid, fish, minced pork, and served with a piquant fish sauce.
• September 4-10 and October 2-8: Two more hawker heroes will be revealed closer to their dates, promising more delightful regional specialities.
