ASIA’S FIRST LEGO FERRARI BUILD AND RACE HAS LANDED AT LEGOLAND MALAYSIA

You know a theme park has done something right when even adults start behaving like excited kids again. That was the energy at LEGOLAND Malaysia as we stepped into their latest attraction, the LEGO Ferrari Build and Race experience. It is the first in Asia, following launches in California and Denmark, and it brings a surprisingly thoughtful blend of engineering play, motorsports nostalgia, and good old LEGO chaos.

The moment you enter, the Ferrari Garage sets the tone. There it is. A life-size LEGO Ferrari F50 built from four hundred twenty one thousand six hundred fifty two bricks and weighing more than a ton. It is the kind of centrepiece that stops you in your tracks. Not because it is big, but because it is crafted with a level of detail you usually only find at Car Week or in the LEGO Masters finale.

Beyond the photo moment, the attraction pushes you to create. The Build Zone is where families sit elbow to elbow, designing their own miniature Ferrari. Kids take the lead. Adults pretend they are not taking it too seriously. It is a social experiment in patience and pride, and it works beautifully.

Once built, the car gets tested. Three track types. Three very different outcomes. Gravity, speed, and precision have minds of their own, and watching each run is half the fun. The magic happens in the digital world. After scanning your build, your LEGO Ferrari appears on a virtual projection mapped version of Italy’s Pista di Fiorano. Suddenly the room turns into a race simulator and everyone is ten years old again.

Toddlers are not left out either. Their DUPLO Build Zone gives them a chance to mimic the big kids in a safe space with soft bricks and simple tracks.

This addition feels different from the average theme-park upgrade. It respects play. It respects creativity. And it respects the Ferrari brand while keeping everything accessible. If LEGOLAND Malaysia set out to create an attraction that parents and children would enjoy equally, this hits the mark.
