In the middle of Orchard Road’s constant motion, there are still a few places that seem to operate on a different clock. Goodwood Park Hotel is one of them. Tucked slightly away along Scotts Road, the heritage hotel has long been a quiet counterpoint to the retail frenzy around it, a place where lunch is not rushed, conversations are not timed, and hospitality still feels like something practiced rather than processed.
Built in 1900 and designated a national monument, Goodwood Park Hotel has always occupied a unique position in Singapore’s dining landscape. It is not a trend-driven destination, and it has never tried to be. Instead, it has built its reputation on consistency, warmth, and a kind of old-world graciousness that is increasingly rare in the city’s central districts.

As 2026 begins, the hotel is leaning gently into that identity with two newly announced dining experiences that focus not on spectacle, but on value, comfort, and the simple pleasure of eating and drinking well. One is a new daily Happy Hour at L’Espresso, the hotel’s elegant lobby lounge. The other is a weekday 1-for-1 local main course promotion at the Coffee Lounge, one of the hotel’s most enduring and well-loved dining rooms.
L’Espresso has long been known as the hotel’s refined yet relaxed social space, especially for afternoon tea and light dining. From 12 January 2026, it takes on a new role in the early evenings, introducing a daily Happy Hour from 5pm to 8pm that is clearly designed to offer a more civilised way to wind down after work or ease into the night.
Set within the hotel lobby, L’Espresso offers two distinct moods. Indoors, the space feels lively and social, a comfortable extension of the city. Step outside, and the atmosphere shifts to something calmer, with seating by the pool terrace that feels almost resort-like despite being just minutes from Orchard Road. It is this contrast that makes the venue particularly well suited to an unhurried early evening drink.
According to the hotel’s announcement, the Happy Hour will feature house wines and spirits at $13.80++ per glass, draught beer at $11.80++, and a 15 percent discount on all other beverages. The drinks selection is anchored by recognisable international labels such as Henriot Brut Souverain Champagne and Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc, reinforcing that this is not meant to be a novelty promotion, but a reliable, everyday ritual done properly.
To accompany the drinks, a small but well-considered menu of bar bites rounds out the experience. There is Har Cheong Pork Belly with homemade chilli sauce, Crispy Spam Fries, and Little Neck Clams in XO Sauce, all dishes that lean into comfort and familiarity rather than trend-chasing. It is easy to imagine this becoming one of those places people default to, not because it is new, but because it is easy to like.

A few days later, from 19 January 2026, the spotlight shifts to the Coffee Lounge, a dining room that has quietly served generations of diners and remains one of Goodwood Park Hotel’s most dependable anchors. Known especially for its Taiwan porridge and local favourites, the Coffee Lounge has always been the kind of place people return to not for surprises, but for reassurance.
For a limited period until 30 April 2026, the hotel is introducing a weekday 1-for-1 Local Main Course promotion, available for lunch, late afternoon dining, and dinner. The structure of the offer already says something about its intent. This is not positioned as a special-occasion deal, but as something meant to fit into real, everyday routines.

Diners will be able to mix and match from a selection of Singapore classics priced from $23++ per dish, including Mee Siam, Char Kway Teow, Hainanese Pork Chop Rice, Singapore Laksa, and Chicken Rice. These are not reinterpretations or modernised versions. They are the kinds of dishes that Coffee Lounge has been known for over the years, served in a setting that still values comfort and familiarity over theatrics.
Taken together, these two new dining experiences feel less like promotions and more like a quiet statement of intent. In a part of the city that often feels designed for speed, Goodwood Park Hotel is once again positioning itself as a place for pause. A place where you go not to chase the new, but to enjoy the reliable, the familiar, and the well done.
