Paddles, pour-overs, and a playlist that slaps — Play! Pickle’s latest event might just be the most Singapore thing to happen this quarter.
Picture this: It’s a Sunday morning. You roll up to a five-court air-conditioned venue in Serangoon, paddle in hand, the scent of freshly brewed specialty coffee in the air, and a playlist so good it makes you want to drop everything and dance — which, actually, you’re encouraged to do.
That’s the idea behind Singapore’s first Pickleball Coffee Rave, and it’s exactly as brilliant as it sounds.

Play! Pickle, one of Singapore’s growing roster of dedicated indoor pickleball facilities, is launching the Pickleball Coffee Rave on Sunday, 22 March 2026 — a two-hour social session that mashes up three things Singaporeans already love: pickleball, craft coffee, and a feel-good morning soundtrack.
If you haven’t noticed, pickleball has gone from niche novelty to full-blown cultural moment in Singapore. ELLE Singapore called it “2025’s most trendy sport”, and the numbers back it up hard. According to Sport Singapore, ActiveSG facilities clocked nearly 8,000 pickleball bookings per month in just the first half of 2025 alone — up from fewer than 20 a month just a couple of years earlier. The Singapore Pickleball Association saw a fivefold jump in participants at Pesta Sukan between 2022 and 2025.
This isn’t a trend — it’s a movement. And it makes sense why. Pickleball is that rare sport that’s genuinely easy to pick up, social by design, and oddly addictive once you’ve played a few rallies. It blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong onto a compact court, which makes it land perfectly in space-conscious Singapore. Courts are popping up at community centres, sports halls, and dedicated facilities islandwide. Even Singapore Sports Hub is converting courts to meet demand.
Against that backdrop, Play! Pickle’s Coffee Rave event isn’t just a fun gimmick — it’s a savvy read of what people actually want from their weekend mornings: community, movement, great coffee, and vibes.

So What Actually Happens at a Pickleball Coffee Rave?
Play! Pickle has thought this through properly. The session runs from 10AM to 12PM and is split into three simultaneous experiences:
On the courts, you choose your level. Beginners can jump into coach-guided play on two dedicated courts — structured, friendly, and genuinely useful if you’ve never held a paddle. Already know what you’re doing? The remaining three courts run open play rotations, with games played to 11 points and a paddle stack system to keep things moving fairly. No awkward waiting around, no cliques — just smooth, social games.
At the coffee station, Lume Coffee is setting up a live brew bar. We’re talking Americanos, Long Blacks, Flat Whites, Lattes, Cappuccinos, Mochas — hot or iced, with fresh milk or oat milk. Between games, there’s a dedicated Groove Zone where you can sip, chill, and decompress without leaving the venue. It’s a smart touch that makes this feel less like a sports session and more like a social occasion.
And then there are the Paddles Up breaks — 60-second micro rave moments where the music drops, the courts pause, and everyone just… vibes. Paddles up, a quick dance break, then right back into play. It sounds ridiculous. It will absolutely be the highlight.

The Man Behind It
Darren Teo, Founder of Play! Pickle, put it simply:
“We’re mashing up three things people already love — pickleball, craft coffee, and feel-good beats — into a social experience that’s easy to enjoy even if you’ve never held a paddle. You’ll leave with a good sweat, great brews, and hopefully a few new friends.”
That philosophy tracks. The best social events in Singapore right now — whether it’s the wave of morning raves that started sweeping the city, or the crop of concept fitness studios that doubled as communities — are the ones that give people something to share, not just something to do. The Pickleball Coffee Rave checks that box pretty convincingly.

Who Is This For?
Honestly? Almost anyone. You don’t need to be athletic, you don’t need to have played pickleball before, and you definitely don’t need to be a coffee snob (though it helps to appreciate a well-pulled flat white).
The $58 per pax fee includes the brews from Lume Coffee, which makes the maths pretty reasonable for a two-hour social session at an air-conditioned facility with coaching included.
That said, if you’re the type who likes your Sunday mornings to feel like an actual experience rather than just exercise — this is for you.
