Salt grill & Sky bar present a refreshed look featuring an added exclusive dining area and a brand new bar after a month-long renovation.
A modern Australian all-day restaurant by celebrity chef-restaurateur Luke Mangan, Salt grill & Sky bar is known for its one-of-a-kind experience that begins even before guests enter the restaurant. From a designated concierge reception within the iconic ION Orchard, guests are ushered into a private, high-speed elevator that takes them up directly to the restaurant which is located on the 55th floor.
Upon entering, one is greeted with the magnificent expanse of the main dining room with full glass floor-to-ceiling windows that span two storeys high, boasting a stunning landscape of the city skyline from the highest point on Orchard Road. Definitely not for those suffering from vertigo/phobia of heights.
A new addition for diners seeking greater exclusivity, they can request for the new private dining area perched on the 56th floor. With unobstructed views overlooking Orchard Road and even stretching out to Marina Bay Sands and the CBD skyline, the view is breathtaking.
Executive Chef Mathew Leighton executes the newly launched menus at Salt grill and Sky bar with panache. Having sharpened his knives across kitchens in several of Luke Mangan’s restaurants, he brings with him the same culinary standards upheld by his previous stints within the Salt empire and is currently the youngest Executive Chef in the group.
A La Carte Menu, available daily for lunch and dinner
Signature starters include the Tea smoked quail ($31++), an original creation in which the bird is smoked with a combination of earl grey tea and rice, and nicely paired with almond cream, prunes, truffled grains, shallot and sorrel. Main courses feature creations such as the Lamb loin cutlet ($69++) enveloped in foie gras mustard crust and served with spiced parsnip puree, almonds and dates.
The menu also showcases a variety of grilled meats and fish that span from free-range Australian Wagyu cuts, including the 300 days grain-fed Rangers Valley Sirloin ($74++) with Moroccan spice, sauté spinach, eggplant puree, and red wine sauce, to a Whole baby snapper ($53++) with bacon and prawn a la meuniere. The cuts of red meat are brought out to the table with each order, so guests can take a personal pick from the meat board, before having it grilled to their preference.
Lunch Set Menus, available on weekdays from 11am to 2pm
Perfect for corporate diners seeking to impress clients, the lunch set menus at Salt grill & Sky bar provide a convenient, fuss-free option. Ranging from $45++ to $80++ per person, diners can enjoy toothsome creations from the regular Lunch Set Menu, or go for gold with the Executive Lunch Set Menu. These menus allow much flexibility with the choice to make it a two- or three- course meal from an array of entrées, main courses and desserts. Both set menus are updated with new dishes each month, ensuring an exciting taste experience each time.
Degustation Menu, available daily for lunch and dinner
Tailored exclusively for diners who want to take their dining experience to a whole new level, the 4-course Supreme degustation menu ($98++ per person) is exclusively available for dinner only at the new private dining area. For an added touch of luxe, go for the 6-course Premium Menu ($150++ per person), with a vegetarian option also available for order. With a backdrop overlooking the iconic Marina Bay Sands, diners can enjoy an uninterrupted romantic date while the restaurant takes care of the rest.
Wine pairing is also available, along with a special promotion of G.H Mumm Champagne at $24++ per glass or $120++ per bottle. For events involving larger groups, the restaurant also offers specially created degustation and set menu options available for both sit down as well as standing-only events including canapes.
