After a hard day’s work, one would always plan to unwind over a mug of beer with friends. Most bars and pubs provide the choice of excellent beers, but stumble when it comes to good food to pair with the social lubricant.
Harry’s Bar has just the answer to that. The brand recently revamped itself and took a 180 degree turn about from the dark and dank pub setting to a brightly lit and music themed gastrobar. It is currently renovating all its branches to uniformly share the same setting.
The Metropolitant team visited Harry’s at Marina Bay Link Mall and got to savor an array of tasty dishes from its revamped menu by Chef Daniel Sia that paired supremely with their signature Harry’s Premium Lager. With its new tantalizing mains and gorgeous desserts, Harryís proves to be a great after-work place for dinner and drinks with friends and colleagues.
Metropolitant does the taste-test and tells you what are the must-tries there! Most of the dishes are rather generous and great for sharing.
Harry’s signature brew has always been light on taste and velvety smooth to drink. It doesn’t scrimp on the alcohol content you’re assured the alcoholic kick after a few rounds.
Harry’s Wingmen
Drench in a secret marinade, the chicken wings taste as good as it looks. They are spicy and very crispy and the classic all time favorite side dishes in pubs will be sure to make you beg for more after you’re done.
Mushrooms and Truffle Oil Flatbread
This could be a main or for sharing, this is a Metropolitant’s favorite carbohydrate staple which we made a second trip back for. The servings of mushrooms were very generous and evenly spread out on each slice of flatbread and the mushrooms were succulent and moist with every bite. The contrast of the succulent mushrooms along with the hot and crispy flatbread was a joy. The truffle drizzle was sufficient, but not too over-whelming.
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
The Pulled Pork Sandwiches were good, in any event if youíre craving for something meaty but not hungry enough to devour a steak. The pulled pork was not too dry and the bread did provide a substantial fill to complement the beer.
Prawn Pasta
This fusion dish does its job well, as a dinner main to satiate a carbohydrate craving, but we felt that the pasta could have been more al-dente as we prefer our pastas to have a little bite.
The prawns were definitely bouncy and fresh.
Apple and Pear Crumble
To complete your dinner at Harry’s, do choose the Apple and Pear crumble to satisfy the sweet tooth. The warm dessert comes served with a scoop of smooth vanilla bean ice cream. This simple yet satisfying dessert was served with a generous portion of Movenpickís Classic Vanilla ice cream with crispy crumble. A very easy to concoct dish
