Our editor Wilsurn, was in Bangkok over the New Year and he shared his scary encounter when he accompanied a friend checking into Metro Resort Pratunam. This was his account of the encounter.
Followed a friend a hotel near Platinum Mall after we went to Jatujak. I had the worse and the most horrific experience of the “nether kind”.
After checking in, the practically deserted hotel had a stale smell and it was horrid. Once in the room, there was an incessant shadow on the selfies we took. Not knowing what it was, I thought it was merely my camera went wrong.
After we left the room, I decided to take a pano shot of the entire corridor. This picture made them decide to leave and abandon the booking for the next 3 nights. It was a very visible dark human form sticking out of the wall. And another human leg shadow on the other wall. (The corridor was dimly lit and there was no one in the long corridor to cast the shadow). I deleted the photo, but everyone present saw it. Ask them. (Including the selfie with an extra hand)
Anyway, they moved to a nicer hotel and all is fine. The end.
It was only until much later, a comment by his friend Tony reminded him that the photo is still in the recycled bin.
There was another picture captured when an extra finger happens to block the lens when he was using the front facing camera.
We checked the website of the hotel and the rooms looks amazing.
When we walked into the hotel, we felt goosebumps. Something wasn’t right. The place was dimly lit and the entire property looks deserted. The room that was assigned to my friend was 424. We headed up to the 4th floor and the lift doors jammed as though someone held it back, but there was no one around but us. We made it up to level 4 and the place was as deserted and quiet. Walking into the hallway, it felt like the corridors of a hospital. We have no idea why the lights were so dim (save money?) and the windows were covered by brown curtains.
We entered the room and it was nice and clean until we found a long red hair on the floor. Still feeling creeped out, we flushed the hair and my friends began to settle down. It was only then I tried to take a selfie and it seems my camera had a brown finger blocking my front facing camera. I decided to press the shutter to see if I can capture the brown patch, and it did. Subsequent photos were fine though.
We left the room to head down to Pratunam for shopping and as we walked out, I could see a shadowy figure at the edge of my eye and there was a whiff of smoke. It was almost like something was being burnt. The group of us headed to the lift and I decided to take a pano shot of the corridor to see if I can capture anything and to show how eerie this hotel was. That was when my camera decided to hang and my phone died. After switching it on with a hard reset, we found the photo in the gallery. My friend decided to change to another hotel after seeing it.

“That brown thing is not my finger, I was using front facing, but there was a ‘finger’ trying to cover my camera. I snapped the picture when it moved away”
Our editor Wilsurn and 3 of his friends were certain there was no one along the corridor and those human figures in the picture simply cannot be explained. If any of our readers would like to experience the rooms, check out the details of the hotel below!
