Under Armour Turns Up The Pulse On International Women’s Day 2016

Following its celebration of women last year with a 13-hour Women of Will workout programme, Under Armour celebrated this year’s International Women’s Day with a special programme exclusively for women. Marie Choo, an avid runner, dog behaviourist and founder of dog welfare charity organisation Dogs Owners Guidance Support (D.O.G.S), was invited to share her personal fitness journey with participants at the event, while French skincare brand Biotherm conducted a beauty workshop. The event finished with a blast with attendees working out to the Pulse powered by Clubbercise workout that debuted in Singapore yesterday by international health and fitness club Virgin Active.

Held at the Bugis Junction Fountain Square, the event was hosted by host and fitness personality Kelly Latimer and saw over 60 women dancing their hearts out with glow sticks in the boisterous, dynamic workout led by Virgin Active instructors. Earlier in the evening, Marie’s earnest sharing on how she started her fitness journey at the crossroads of her career – and how she always runs for a cause – touched the hearts of participants and other members of the public. She also shared on how she is dedicating two marathons to Singapore’s rescue dogs this year, one in Gold Coast Australia and another in New York, inspiring participants to further their fitness journeys.

After Marie’s sharing session, Biotherm’s skincare experts conducted a beauty workshop that included a ‘live’ demonstration, providing tips on how to achieve that post-workout glow. Gold90.5 FM DJ Jamie Yeo also graced the event, displaying her enthusiasm and encouragement for the ladies participating in the workout.

The start of the Pulse workout was highly anticipated as the animated Virgin Active instructors then took over the stage to great cheer. Participants were pumped with adrenaline showing off vigorous dance moves in sync with the latest chart toppers, even attracting the attention of shoppers and passers-by at the mall, who stopped to watch and snap photos.

The high-spirited event concluded with closed-door shopping with an exclusive Under Armour discount for all participants at the sportswear label’s store at Bugis Junction, the largest Under Armour Brand House in Singapore yet.
