Kai Garden Cantonese Family Favourites

Since its opening in December 2015, Kai Garden has been making a splash. It is not a wonder since its Executive Chef, Chef Fung Chi Keung, was Paradise Group’s, Group Executive Chef as well as responsible for launching the group’s fine-dining concept, Taste Paradise.

During a media tasting, I had the pleasure of dining at Kai Garden as they introduced Cantonese Family Favourites from their ala carte menu. Naturally I was quite interested in trying out what the fuss surrounding Kai Garden was, having seen many reviews about their food.

In all, some standout dishes in the media tasting were the Sautéed Tiger Prawn with Dried Fish Maw. The tiger prawns were very fresh and seasoned with salt and pepper, and when combined with amazingly succulent fish maw in steak chunks, it went very well together with the abalone sauce!

The next favourite dish was the Braised Chicken with Flower Crabs. Growing up in a pure Cantonese family, the dish really brought back childhood memories – the warm fuzzy familiar feeling of family dining together and enjoying good food.

I actually went back the following week with my family, but this time trying out their dim sum – which was quite highly raved about. It definitely lived up to the hype – as if my dad didn’t complain about the food, that was a very good sign!

If you have not been to Kai Garden, you should, at least, give it a try! It would be recommended that for the weekend lunch to make a booking!
