THE FUSION OF ART AND FASHION: LOEWE COLLABORATES WITH KENSHI YONEZU IN A STUNNING FW23 MEN’S COLLECTION CAMPAIGN

Captured by renowned French photographer Arnaud Lajeunie, Kenshi Yonezu — the era’s leading singer-songwriter and multifaceted artist — embodies LOEWE’s Fall-Winter ’23 men’s collection. This exclusive campaign invites us into Yonezu’s world, revealing the novels, comic books, and memorabilia instrumental to his artistic evolution.

Set against intentionally blurred backdrops, Yonezu showcases LOEWE’s hallmark designs. The standout is a studded shirt with dramatic metal angel wings, complimented by a twisted coat in soft nappa lambskin, and lace-up derby shoes with LOEWE’s distinct exaggerated round toes. Evoking casual charm, Yonezu relaxes in pixelated jeans and a denim jacket, muses in front of a piano clad in a workwear jacket, and ambles on tatami mats wearing a striking green draped cardigan.

The campaign also highlights LOEWE’s leather masterpieces — the bi-colour Puzzle Fold tote and the vibrant red mushroom patterned Puzzle bag, and the Cubi Crossbody bag, set alongside the Campo lace-ups in elegant black calfskin.

From August 16–23, experience this synergy of artistry at pop-in spaces in LOEWE Omotesando and CASA LOEWE Tokyo. The venues will feature imagery and the iconic metal wings from the FW23 runway. Additionally, this collaboration will be showcased across Japan and will grace the cover of Highsnobiety Japan’s upcoming September issue.

Jonathan Anderson, LOEWE’s Creative Director, shares, “Collaborating with Kenshi Yonezu, a paramount music artist in Asia, has been a privilege. His profound musical energy aligns perfectly with LOEWE’s menswear themes. As we commemorate LOEWE’s 50th anniversary in Japan, our collaboration couldn’t be more timely.”

Kenshi Yonezu reciprocates the sentiment, “Last year, LOEWE’s campaign with Takeshi Kitano profoundly moved me. Joining this year’s campaign has been an honor. I’m drawn to LOEWE’s mix of playfulness and conceptual depth.”

A Glimpse into Kenshi Yonezu’s World
Yonezu’s artistry isn’t just confined to music. He’s also acclaimed for illustrating his album covers and producing stellar videos. His hit single “Lemon” holds the record for Japan’s most-streamed song and has topped Billboard Japan’s charts twice consecutively. In 2023, he lent his genius to compose “Spinning Globe” for Studio Ghibli’s latest masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki, “The Boy and the Heron.”
