BANYAN GROUP’S 100TH MILESTONE: A CELEBRATION ROOTED IN THE RAINFOREST

Banyan Group celebrates its 100th resort milestone with the opening of Mandai Rainforest Resort in Singapore, hosting a week-long Rainforest Festival that champions sustainability, community, and conscious travel.

When Banyan Group first opened its doors in 1994 with the now-iconic Banyan Tree Phuket, it redefined luxury travel with a conscience. Three decades later, the brand marks a remarkable milestone — the opening of its 100th property, the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, right here in Singapore. More than a celebration of expansion, this is a homecoming — a return to where its story of sustainability and soulful hospitality began.

Set in the heart of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the newly launched resort sits on the edge of Singapore’s lush rainforest, inviting guests to rediscover the harmony between modern comfort and the natural world. Designed as a sanctuary within the city, Mandai Rainforest Resort encapsulates Banyan Group’s philosophy of “Embracing the Environment, Empowering People.”

To commemorate the grand opening, Banyan Group introduces the Rainforest Festival — a week-long celebration running from 27 November to 3 December 2025. This inaugural event is more than a ribbon-cutting; it is a curated experience that connects art, nature, and purpose. Visitors can wander through artisan showcases, sustainable brand pop-ups, and immersive installations that bring the rainforest’s spirit to life.

One of the highlights, The Wishing Tree, is a living art installation where visitors can hang personal wishes for the planet’s future — a fitting metaphor for Banyan Group’s long-standing commitment to sustainability. The Banyan Gallery Showcase presents handcrafted works from artisans across the world, while the GREEN-HOUSE HangOut spotlights ten Singaporean eco-conscious brands alongside performances by Joie TanJack & Rai, and MICappella.

All proceeds from the festival will go to the President’s Challenge, matched by Banyan Group and the SG60 fund, underscoring the brand’s dedication to community impact.

From Gryphon Tea’s rainforest-inspired blends to Tanglin Gin’s exclusive Rainforest Gin, every detail of this event serves as a reminder that luxury and responsibility can coexist beautifully.

With Mandai Rainforest Resort, Banyan Group closes one chapter and opens another — not just as a leader in sustainable hospitality, but as a storyteller of how travel can give back more than it takes.
